Tainted synthetic marijuana sickens users in Connecticut

Connecticut police say they are investigating a batch of tainted synthetic marijuana that has sent about a dozen people to the hospital.

Cpl. Stanley Parizo Jr. with the Willimantic Police Department says they began receiving calls at about 8 a.m. Monday of people exhibiting psychotic behavior after smoking the drug.

He says about a dozen have been sent to Windham Hospital as of Tuesday morning with extremely high blood pressure and temperatures of up to 106 degrees.

He says police suspect the drug may have been laced with the hallucinogenic PCP and have sent samples to be tested.

He says they are trying to track down the source of the marijuana.
