"Having an engineering background helps" - Anubhav Sinha

Anubhav Sinha is known for his stylishly crafted action thriller 'Dus' which was one of the biggest block-buster last year.

Anubhav Sinha's journey into the magical world of cinema began with TV where he made 'Bagpiper Sitaron ka Karva' to 'Yule love stories', 'Sea Hawks' and his first music video of Sonu Nigam 'Tu'. And since then there was no turning back with almost every video of his having his signature to it. Soon, he was being called as a music video director with the Midas touch.

His first film, which was a love story - 'Tum Bin', was a hit followed by 'Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai' & the Super Duper hit Dus which showcased his technical wizardry.

Anubhav Sinha's technical competence is in the mould of Mukul Anand and that is also due to the fact that he has an engineering background. He feels that having a background in engineering helps because the brain is formatted to think systematically and secondly you become less apprehensive of technology and embrace it.

Anubhav is a multi-faceted because apart from being a director, he is also a dialogue writer and now has turned producer. He has formed ASP White as his production house with his brother Anubhav and has a six movie deal with Percept Picture Company and K Sera Sera. His 2nd production house is Seven Ent. with his friend Anish.

The philosophy of his production house is

1) Choose a story
2) Choose a Director
3) Choose The Right Cast

In short Make good movies & have fun!

Anubhav Sinha admits that he is influenced by great directors like Bimal Roy, Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, Mukul Anand, Mahesh Bhatt, Mani Ratnam and international film makers like Sergio leonne Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Michael Bay, John Woo & Spike lee.

Presently Anubhav Sinha is directing the much awaited action thriller 'Cash'. The film stars Ajay Devgan, Zayed Khan, Ritesh Desmukh, Arjun Rampal, Esha Deol and Dia Mirza in the lead.
