Black Butterfly Review

The mystery unfold through the flashbacks, a police probe is started to look at an attempt murder of a girl named Reena (Malavika Sai) who works as a maid in a city flat, and police arrests Benny (Midhun Murali) a boy who works at a nearby petrol Pump. Police also questions a plus two student Athira (Samskriti) whos lover is Deepak (Niranj). It unfolds all the events happened that lead to the crime. The racy narration will be sure to offer an edge to seat thriller.

M Ranjith’s direction is good to bring the best of an excellent script and got some outstanding performances from the fresh actors. A confident directorial debut, though the shoots look conventional the narration was too good. And The script from J. Pallassery is racy and suspense filled, hardly we find any loopholes from this script. After an initial build up the movie looked real racy and suspense filled till the end. The background score by Gopi sunder is apt for the thriller and one of the highlight of the movie. Cinematography by Alagappan also was good and kept the rusty feel of a thriller. Editing by V Saajan is crisp and so does other technical crews also, be it the art from Gokul Das, Make Up from pattanma Rasheed, or SB Satheesh’s costumes.

The performances of the fresh cast is promising, Midhun Murali as Benny, Niranj as Deepaka, Samskriti as Athira and Malavika Sai as Reena all were impressive in their respective roles. All leaves a mark as the audience glued to the screen with power of the screenplay, dialogues, direction and some good moments. Rest of the actors too came up with some brilliant job including Ganapathy.
