You are like my son: Sujatha to Shankar

Director Shankar has recalled his fond memories of the writer Sujatha, who had worked with the director in four films. Shankar has recollected the days when both of them go to some place for the story discussion. His thought, according to Shankar, was always fresh and young like that of a collage student.

Shankar has showered praise on his most preferred dialogue writer as a person capable of presenting the heavy and complex things in simple and precise manner.

Both of them have worked together in four films viz, 'Mudhalvan', 'Boys', 'Anniyan', and 'Sivaji'. No one could forget his powerful dialogues in the interview scene in 'Mudhalvan' and the Nehru Stadium scene in 'Anniyan'.

'Robot', Shankar says, could have been the most intimate project for the writer, who has a great passion and knowledge towards science.

Shankar has also recalled the unique qualities of Sujatha, who never accepted 'thanks' from the director for any kind of help. All that he used to say was, 'why do you thank me? You are like my son''

The words of the condolence statement express the unbearable sorrow of Shankar. We present here the full text in Tamil.
