Sathyaraj’s generosity

The one reel movement launched by Pyramid Saimira Theatre Group and Jnanabhanu has found a new supporter in veteran actor Sathyaraj. The actor, who gave a colorful talk on the launch function that took place on December 28, came forward to act without getting salary for such projects. '��If I happen to act in such a film under such a movement, I'��ll act without getting any remuneration'��, declared Sathyaraj.

The tall actor with 30 years of experience in films had acted in '��Periyar'�� for free of cost. He said that he did not want to get money to portray the character of the legendary Tamil leader, as the film was made through the contributions of the followers of the leader.

Sathyaraj has also expressed his desire to act as MGR if anybody comes forward to make a film on the legendary actor. He said that he would not get money to play MGR'��s role.

Sathyaraj'��s free offers seem to be continuing. He wants to act as LTTE leader Anton Balasingam without getting any payment.

Such announcements might sound less serious if stretched too far. But Sathyaraj'��s gesture towards good projects could well turn out to be an admirable precedence. This could encourage many leading stars to support the cause of making good films on many personalities.
