Three cheers in Kollywood

It was joyous occasion in tamil film industrt as three big movies went to floors.

The films to be produced by South India Film Chamber president KRG, cinematographer Jeeva's wife Aneez and noted Malayalam director Vinayan kicked off on Friday.

Actor Vikram and cinematographer P C Sreeram took part in the muhurrat of 'Muthirai', a movie produced by Aneez, wife of cinematographer-director Jeeva, who passed away recently.

Being directed by actor and former associate of Jeeva, Sreenath, 'Muthirai' features Nithin Sathya, Daniel Balaji and Lakshmi Rai in the lead roles. Noted Bollywood director Vikram Bhatt co-produces the movie.

The shooting for Madhavan starrer 'Guru En Aalu' began today with special poojas. The movie is produced by KRG and directed by Selvah. Mamta Mohandas plays Madhavan's heroine in the movie while Jayaram is also in the cast.

Vinayan, who directed films like 'Kasi,' 'En Manava Vanil' and 'Arputha Theevu', started his next Tamil venture 'Naalai Namadhae'. It is being produced Jana Seva, an orphanage in Kerala. The proceeds from the movie would be utilised for maintaining the orphanage. The movie features newcomers Ram and Thanusha. Over 150 inmates of Jana Seva participated in the muhurrat.
