Akshaya makes her move

The charming Akshaya, after her sensuous portrayal in Kalabha Kadhalan, chose to wait for the right offers. Thankfully, she has managed to bag a plump role in a movie titled Gaja.

Says Akshaya, after playing the negative character in Kalabha Kadhalan, I was flooded with offers to do similar roles. However I did not want myself to be typecast as an actress who can do only baddie characters. I was impressed when debutant Ganapathy narrated the story of Gaja to me. Immediately, I decided to do the movie.'

Akshaya, the dusky beauty, has also accepted to do a couple of films in Telugu.

She says, 'my role in Gaja is heroine-centric and I really hope this film gives me a big break in Tamil.'

Interestingly the movie is also being made simultaneously in Telugu too.
