Cheran does it his own way
MusicMazaa.com ( April 6, 2006 )
Actor-director Cheran created kerfuffle at Burma Bazaar in Chennai. Cheran, who has been vigorously campaigning against piracy had been to a shop and bought pirated VCDs of his very own films Autograph and Thavamai Thavamirundu through his car driver on Wednesday.
Apparently agitated Cheran picked up arguments with the shop-owner resulting in rest of the shop-owners gathering at the spot.
A verbal duel almost resulted in bloody blows before police arrived at the spot.
The local police gathered at the scene and promised immediate action on the law-breakers. The shop-owner was arrested and strict instruction were passed to the rest of the shop-owners to atop selling pirated VCDs.
