Poi's release cancelled

Last week-end, K Balachander's much-hyped Poi was slated for a release.

Produced by actor-producer Prakash Raj for his mentor K Balachander. The distribution of Poi, 101st directorial venture of K Balachander, has been taken over by Oscar Films.

The latest emerging from Kollywood is that the release has been deferred by a week.

The musical score by Vidyasagar is widely appreciated. Poi stars Uday Kiran, debutant Vimala Raman, Geethu Mohandoss and K Balachander himself.

Interestingly, with Deepavali around the corner, nearly half-a-dozen movies are expected to be released on the festive day.

Perhaps, Poi may also be released for Deepavali.
