Sanjay Dutt in Sivaji

Ever since director Shankar commenced shooting for Rajinikanth starrer Sivaji, rumors were abuzz that Malayalam star Mohanlal would play an important role in the movie. However, the actor reportedly declined the offer because of his hectic schedule in Malayalam movies.

Grapevine had it that Hindi actor Nana Patekar would replace him. However Nana Patekar, on his part, denied being approached for Sivaji.

Now sources close to Shankar, say, 'Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt may eventually play the role. He has been briefed of his role. It looks likely that he would be part of Sivaji.'

Also efforts are still on to persuade Big B (Amitabh Bachchan) to act in the role.

Watch out this space. In the next few days, we would come to know who eventually go on to play this all important role in Sivaji, being produced by AVM.
