Rajini as Ravana

The latest buzz doing rounds in Bollywood is that director Rajkumar Santoshi, who has undertaken an ambitious Rs 100 crore film, Ramayan, has reportedly convinced Rajinikanth to play the role of Ravana.

According to rumors, Santoshi had been to Chennai recently and urged Rajinikanth to don the role. Rajini was impressed with the offer but said he needed some time to take up the role.

The director had convinced the actor that Ravana has been portrayed as man of immense moral and physical strength with a great devotion to Lord Shiva.

However it is now known whether Rajinikanth has accepted the offer.
