Important decisions by Producers Council

The Producers Council has been pretty proactive these days.

Just a couple of days back, the producers were serious about capping the production expenses. They had spoken about reigning in the expenses incurred by the stars.

Now the producers are planning to move one step further.

They are talking about bringing a certain kind of order in film releases.

The producers do not want too many big releases on a single occasion.

It is normal in Tamil filmdom to have too many films releasing on the same day. On days of Deepavali, Pongal or Tamil New Year, it is not uncommon to find all the top heroes films clashing.

In such an event, only a few movies succeed. For instance, for this Deepavali there were six big movies for release. By the law of averages, only a couple survived.

This is a situation that the producers want to avoid.

Now they have decided to bring in a cap on the big releases on big occasions.

So, for all we know, Sivaji and Dasavatharam may not clash on the next Tamil New Year Day.
