New character in 'Sholay'

Ramgopal Varma, who was remaking the blockbuster like 'Sholay' again, is doing it as a prestigious project. However, he is taking every possible step to portray the characters in a different way from the original 'Sholay'.

It is further learnt that he was introducing a new character in the film, which could not be seen in the original. Malayalam Super Star Mohan Lal is sporting the role of 'Thakur' and the new character included in the film is his wife Kavitha.

The length of the character is quite small on the screen. Popular singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy was selected for the role. It may be mentioned here that Suchitra had earlier played a role in Ramgopal Varma's film 'My Wife's Murder' in 2005.
