Shoban Babu: A silent tribute to a shining star

Telugu actor Shoban Babu passed yesterday at his home in Mehta Nagar, Chennai. He was 71. The deceased actor is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters. The entire film industry was present at his home to offer their last respects.

Braving the rain Mega star Chiranjeevi, MP and producer Dasari Narayana Rao and yester year actors Anjali Devi and Vani Shree were also among the mourners. Consoling the Son of Shoban Babu, Mega Star Chiranjeevi said, that inspite of having 6-Stars at home his wife is a big fan of Shoban Babu.

Director K.Vishwanathan, Banu Chandar, Arjun, Manjula Vijaykumar, Arun Vijaykumar, 'Anni' Malavika, Ambika, Roja, R.K. Selvamani, playback singer S.P. Shylaja, Subalekha Sudakar, Arun Pandian, Ram Kumar, ChandraMohan, Gajendran were present among the stars who attended the funeral.

The funeral was held in Shanti Niketan Farm, at Poonamilli. Thousands of his fans paid their homage all along the procession to the place and many more were present at Shanti Niketan to pay their last respects.

With many Filmfare awards, state awards as well as a national award to his credit, Shoban Babu ruled Tollywood for almost thirty years.
