JD Chakravarthy entered the film industry in a negative role through 'Siva' directed by Ramgopal Varma. Later, he played villain in several films and got a break as hero with 'Gulabi'.
Later, he continued to play hero in several films and some of them were runaway hits. After a successive failures, JD Chakravarthy went off the screen for some time and tried his hand behind the screen.
However, he used to appear on the screen now and then in guest roles like in 'Amritha' and 'Dubai Sreenu'. Very recently, he directed 'Homam' with Jagapatibabu in the lead.
It seems the director-cum-artiste is still fascinated towards the negative roles and he himself took the initiative to play villain in his own direction 'Homam' opposite Jagapatibabu. In Tamil films also, he is playing a negative role in 'Sarvam'.
Now, Chakravarthy got a very good opportunity to play villainy in 'Robot' directed by N Shankar and produced by Ayyangaran Films with a whopping Rs 100 crore budget.
'Robot' had become the talk of the town as the film is coming after a stupendous hit like 'Sivaji' with a repeat combination. After playing villainy in 'Sivaji', Suman started getting good opportunities in Tamil films.
Let us wait and watch how far, 'Robot' will help Chakravarthy to make a comeback.
