When others are busy making horror-comedies, one Kollywood filmmaker chose to be different. He made a reel vs real ghost drama, a spoof-like feature. It's Rambala, the director of the July 7 release Dhilluku Dhuddu. With the film proving to be a big hit there (it has already grossed Rs. 12 cr), it may see a Telugu released (dubbed version) soon. There are reports that it might be remade in Hindi.
Starring Santhanam in the lead role, it has Shanaya playing the female lead. Yogi Babu is in another important role. Music is by SS Thaman.
Santhanam enjoys vast popularity in the Telugu States. Moreover, the genre is also current, never mind the fact that Sathyaraj's Dora has bombed at the BO. Only recently, we have seen Bicchagadu have a fantastic run at the box office. After this, Tamil film producers are once again buoyed. This could be yet another reason why the film might be released soon.
