Man U dominance is about to end, says fierce rival City’s Mancini

London, Jan 6 (ANI): Manchester City’s new boss Roberto Mancini has vowed to tear down the Old Trafford banner mocking his club’s lack of success.

He believes the task will be so much easier without Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez in Manchester United’s line-up.

The cold war between City and United has run all season and a banner at the Stretford End at Old Trafford records the number of years since City last won a trophy and currently stands between 33 and 34 years.

Mancini said this will be the last year they can display it as they will be knocking out the Red Devils on their way to lifting the Carling Cup, The Sun reports.

“When we get to Old Trafford we will take the banner down! It is the last year it will be up, for sure,” he said.

Mancini insists United are not the same team without Ronaldo and Tevez. “Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo are two top players. It is normal when a team loses two players like that they might lose something,” he said.

Mancini believes United will regret their feeble attempts at trying to keep Tevez - making no attempt to turn his two-year loan period into a permanent move until the very end of last season.

“Carlos is playing well for us, particularly in the last three games. He is getting back to the top of his form,” Mancini said. (ANI)
