Kara Kuzhambu
Ingredients :
- Potatoes 1 cup 113 cal
- Onion 1 no 5.2 cal
- Tomato 1 no 22 cal
- Garlic 10 cloves 17.3 cal
- Tamarind Pulp 1/2 cup 287 cal
- Coconut Milk 1/4 cup 552 cal
- Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp 7 cal
- Sambhar Powder 2 tsp 26.6 cal
- Gram 1 tsp 13.3 cal
- Fenugreek Seeds 1/2 tsp 10 cal
- Chilli Powder 2 tsp 23.4 cal
- Cumin Seeds 1/4 tsp 8 cal
- Mustard Seeds 1/4 tsp 14 cal
- Curry leaves 2 springs 11 cal
- Salt 2 pinch 0 cal
- Oil 3 tsp 695 cal
Method :
1.
Cut onion and tomato into slices.
2.
Crush the garlic flakes.
3.
Heat the oil.
4.
Fry the black gram, gram and cumin seeds till they turn brown.
5.
Grind this fried mixture to make a fine powder and keep it aside.
6.
Heat the oil again.
7.
Add curry leaves, crushed garlic and sliced onion.
8.
Saute for few minutes.
9.
Add potatoes and fry it.
10.
Mix sliced tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder and sambhar powder.
11.
Add tamarind pulp, salt and water.
12.
Boil it for 5 minutes.
13.
Now add dal powder and coconut milk.
14.
Cook it over low flame.
